Today, our political, social, ecological and cultural unrest has produced an extraordinary number of artist collectives, unmatched since the 1960s, who use social engagement as their primary means of artistic production. Artists are banding together in greater quantities and intensities to stimulate change in arenas where government and social services leave off, taking on issues of political and societal instability in their practices.

Descent to Revolution features several artist collectives and evacuates completely the gallery as site for exhibition, dispersing it into the urban network of Columbus. Gallery visitors are greeted with a schedule and a map needed for experiencing projects, workshops, gatherings, events, and artworks located around the city during the course of the exhibition.

Publication will accompany exhibition.
