2017–2021

Advanced academic excellence and the profile of CCA’s Graduate Program in Curatorial Practice through collaborative leadership, strategic planning and partnerships, ethical governance, and attentive resource management.

  • Launched and served as director of the Curatorial Research Bureau, a two-year initiative between California College of the Arts and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, to host public and academic programs and integrate students into the working life of the contemporary arts organization. 

  • Initiated collaborations with institutions to provide educational and financial resources to students. 

  • Increased program enrollment by more than 100% each year with enriched course offerings and resources. 

  • Diversified faculty by fostering stronger relationships with curatorial professionals outside of the Bay Area. 

  • Cultivated donors to support scholarships and faculty. 

  • Organized academic programs with visiting curators and designers including Ute Meta Bauer, Julia Born, Elena Filipovic, Shoghig Halajian, Amanda Hunt, Na Kim, Maria Lind, and Sarah Rifky.

  • Initiated and managed academic partnerships with Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts to advance capstone exhibitions and fellowships for students. 

  • Collaborated with KADIST Foundation to provide post-graduate training. 

Dean, Fine Arts
2016–2018

Offered vision and direction to four graduate and eleven undergraduate academic programs in the Fine Arts Division. Provided stewardship and support to ensure excellence across a range of activities prioritizing inclusive communities and environments for students and faculty.

  • Partnered with leadership—president, provost, deans—to envision curricular opportunities reflective of advanced art and design education models. 

  • Cultivated funding for new buildings, faculty enrichments, scholarships, and diversity initiatives. 

  • Worked with leadership to commission Studio Gang to design the new college facilities for a unified campus. 

  • Spearheaded partnerships with Bay Area organizations to foster alliances with local institutions. 

  • Launched and curated pubic programs and visiting artists series with Rosa Barba, Simon Fujiwara, Sharon Hayes, and Shahryar Nashat to provide students exposure to leading voices in contemporary art. 

  • Facilitated and organized public events to introduce innovative global models in arts education.
