SEVENTH DREAM OF TEENAGE HEAVEN
January 27-March 12, 2011

CURATOR
James Voorhies

Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven examines relationships with time and its effects on present and future conditions of our existence. Taking the title from the 1984 album by British pop band Love and Rockets, the exhibition investigates ways in which contemporary culture is consumed by an innate and underlying awareness of the passage of time. The central thesis of the exhibition considers the range of implications of our obsession with the past--so evidently connected to our mortality. Is time used to propel or impede our being in the world? In an attempt to respond to this question and others, Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven will feature installation, performance, photography, sculpture and video by a group of international participants.
